This year’s brunch theme is inspired by Alice Walker’s The Color Purple. We, like the color purple, are majestic – and of extraordinary beauty. We calm and soothe like lavender. Our stories are deep and divine like violet. Like the color purple we are multihued, our collective presence a celebration commanding acknowledgement. Join us as we celebrate the joy that is black womanhood!

There will be food! There will be music! There will be mimosas! There might even be dancing…

We hope to provide a platform which inspires black women and girls to sound off, to elevate their truths, and define their narratives. The Speakeasy is a place to be bold, free, and heard. In the words of Mahogany L. Browne, "aint no room for a Black woman's voice to be policed."
